The Virgo has many defining characteristics and personality traits that are interesting to learn about and look into deeper. Their  birthdays fall in between August 23rd and September 23rd and their symbol is the virgin, usually represented as a female.

Although the Virgo is represented by a virgin, this does not mean they are celibate or do not enjoy physical pleasure; rather it reflects their naive and waiting spirit which defines them. The best words as a description of virgo are traditional, modest, shy, practical, analytical, and diligent.

The Virgo is not exceptionally social, though they do enjoy the company of good friends and family. It can be tough for them to make new friends easily, but they will be very loyal and caring toward the friends they make. They like to keep to themselves  and do not usually wish to reveal much about themselves, especially not to those they don’t know very well. For this reason it can sometimes seem like they are quiet and shy, but they are not usually that way around people they are comfortable with. They are very private and not typically very outgoing. It is very difficult for them to be trusting of others, and they usually carefully guard their emotions. However, when they make a friend that has proven his or her trustworthiness, it is likely he or she will start to open up more and more.

Virgos are well known for being very fussy and particular. They like things their way and aren’t too compromising. They can sometimes seem like they are controlling, as if they do not get what they want they will express their dissatisfaction. They may tell others what to do – but this is not just for the sake of control – it is mostly because in their mind they think that will help make the other person’s life better, even though that may not actually be the case. Another one of the characteristics of Virgo is their tendency to worry. They can become very upset at even the slightest thing that doesn’t go the right way or hints of trouble.

The Virgo’s mind and perspective will be what determines their outlook on life. If they are moody or in a negative environment, they will look at life negatively. However, if they have a positive outlook, the Virho can be quite happy with life.

Another one of the defining characteristics of Virgo is that they are perfectionists. They want things to be perfect and flawless, though of course we all know in life that no one is perfect. Because they are such perfectionists, they are often meticulous and have a very fine attention to detail. This can also make them very critical, since they will often not like the style of someone else. However, this is not always a bad thing – it often helps them to reach their goals and to organize great things in his or her life.

They are usually responsible and very good at managing others as well as being in management positions in their careers.

Virgos love truth and honesty, and they can sometimes be bluntly honest – they don’t always sugar coat their thoughts.

On the lighter side, they can be very charming and usually very attractive. They can learn to be flexible and adaptive to change and their surroundings. If they learn to have a positive attitude they can be fun loving and positive – though they will always display some of their perfectionist traits and continue to be responsible in most situations.
